School's are out, it's officially summer, which means only one thing - BBQ season!
Now, we may not get perfect sunshine, but that won’t stop us from celebrating the summer with our top BBQ tips!
1. Be prepared.
The last thing you want to be doing is last minute rushing about on the big BBQ day, so making sure you’re organised the day before will save you a lot of stress. From plates, cutlery, drinks, napkins, make sure you’ve got all you could possibly need (and more!). And remember to cut the grass.
2. Get creative!
Sure, everyone loves a burger or a hot dog, but why not give your guests something more exciting with some unexpected BBQ treats. Try halloumi kebabs with tomatoes and courgettes, and grilled pineapple or bananas for a caramelised dessert – be the BBQ that everyone wants to be invited to.
3. Don’t forget snacks!
There’s nothing better than the taste of a burger straight off the BBQ, but don’t let your guests grow hungry as they wait their turn – some crisps and dips or veggies and hummus will go a long way while they’re waiting for the main course.

4. Get your guests to pitch in.
Most friends and family members will be happy to help out – asking them to bring a few drinks or bites to eat will lessen your workload and make a big difference. Just be sure they get first choice of the food!
5. Always make a little extra.
Nobody likes to be told they can’t have that extra burger they’ve been looking forward to, so make sure you grill just enough to leave with some leftovers. If they don’t get eaten on the day, send them away with your guests in a doggy bag – or just keep them for yourself!
